TERMS & CONDITIONS

Applications open on 18 July (Mandela Day).
Selected participants will be chosen by the Music with Mario and Friends team.
Selected participants will receive free music lessons during August.
Lessons take place at the Bryanston studio.
Participants must be available for weekly lessons throughout August.
Lessons are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
If selected, participants agree to be photographed and/or featured in promotional videos and social media.

Music with Mario and Friends may use approved photos/videos for promotional purposes.
Selection decisions are final.
Music with Mario and Friends reserves the right to amend these terms if necessary.
Applicants confirm that all information submitted is true.
If under 18, parental or guardian consent is required.
Completing the application does not guarantee selection.

First Sound is a community initiative by Music with Mario and Friends that gives aspiring musicians who have never had the opportunity to take formal music lessons the chance to experience their very first lesson.

Anyone aged 6 years and older who has never taken formal music lessons may apply. There is no maximum age.

Nothing. First Sound is completely free for selected participants.

Selected participants will attend one private lesson each week throughout August at our Bryanston studio.

Yes! If you know someone who deserves the opportunity to begin their musical journey, you can nominate them.

All lessons will take place at the Music with Mario and Friends studio in Bryanston.

No. Instruments will be available at the studio.

If you already own a portable instrument, you're welcome to bring it.

Unfortunately not. Spaces are limited, and only selected applicants will be contacted.

Yes. Selected participants (or parents/guardians for minors) will be asked to give permission for photos and videos to be used on Music with Mario and Friends' marketing and social media channels.
